The dream began with a simple vision: rows of sour cherry trees stretching toward the Kentucky sky.
Today, that vision is taking root across 84 acres of rolling farmland, where more than 400 cherry trees stand alongside sour plum, pomegranate and a colorful mix of berries and specialty fruits. The farm also cultivates seabuckthorn berries, chokeberries, lingonberries, blueberries, red currants and elderberries.
In spring, the orchards blush with blossoms, petals drifting on the breeze like soft confetti. Summer brings the hum of bees and the slow ripening of fruit, each harvest a reminder of what patience and care can create. Every tree is planted by hand, tended with the same thoughtfulness behind everything at Mt. Lawley Farms.
The sour cherry trees are already baring fruit. As they mature, Mt. Lawley Farms looks ahead to its first full harvests, when the fruit will be shared through local markets, seasonal tastings and the farm’s signature Sour Cherry Vodka.
Crafted in small batches from fruit grown on the property, it’s a true testament to Mason County soil and local artistry. Smooth, bright and meant to be shared, each pour carries the story of the orchard, a taste of Kentucky terroir best enjoyed with friends, family and a view of the land that made it possible.
Beyond growing fruit, the orchards are also a gathering place, nurtured in partnership with local beekeepers, landscapers and artisans who share in the rhythm of the land. Together, they’re cultivating something lasting — a community rooted in beauty, craft and connection.
